01
Scope
This policy applies to the SparLab website and app, including account areas, the Discover and For You experience, public profiles, business subdomains, published articles, and related support interactions.
Public business pages may link to websites or social profiles controlled by other people or companies. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover what happens after you leave SparLab.
02
Information we handle
Account and sign-in information
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, password credentials in protected form, business display name, chosen subdomain, and selected interests. If you use an available third-party sign-in option, we receive the account information needed to complete that sign-in.
Profile, business, and publishing information
You can provide profile photos, biography and About text, profession, location, expertise, achievements, business descriptions, categories, cover images, websites, social links, products or services, articles, supporting images, captions, and other material you choose to publish.
Service and support activity
We process information needed to keep sessions working, prevent abuse, respond to password-reset or support requests, and understand service activity. This can include page paths, page views, link clicks, approximate traffic counts, request times, and privacy-preserving visitor or security identifiers.
Launch updates
If you separately join a SparLab waitlist, the waitlist may ask for your name, email, WhatsApp number, city, and consent to receive launch updates. You can opt out of those updates at any time.
03
How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure your account, remember your session, and return you to the page you intended to visit after authentication;
- create your public profile and business page, host published work, and generate the links you choose to share;
- personalize the For You feed using the interests you select;
- process uploads, drafts, publications, profile edits, and support requests;
- measure page views and link interactions so account owners can understand how published pages are used;
- detect misuse, protect accounts, troubleshoot failures, and improve accessibility and reliability; and
- send service messages or optional launch communications you asked to receive.
04
What becomes public
Information you publish to a public profile, business page, owner page, gallery, or article can be viewed and shared by anyone. Search engines, AI services, archives, and other third parties may discover or retain copies of public pages outside SparLab’s control.
Drafts and account controls are not intended to be public. Before publishing, review names, photos, locations, links, claims, achievements, and media to make sure you are comfortable making them available.
Editing or removing content from SparLab changes what we serve, but it may not immediately remove copies previously indexed, cached, or shared elsewhere.
05
When information is shared
We do not make private account information public simply because you have an account. Information may be shared in these limited situations:
- At your direction: when you publish a page, add an external link, or otherwise choose to share information.
- With service providers: when hosting, storage, authentication, email, security, or technical providers need information to perform services for SparLab.
- For safety or legal reasons: when reasonably necessary to protect people, the service, or legal rights, or to respond to a valid legal process.
- During a business change: if the service is reorganized, financed, acquired, or transferred, subject to appropriate handling of the information involved.
SparLab does not sell your profile or account information as a standalone product.
06
Cookies and measurement
SparLab uses essential browser storage or cookies to keep you signed in, protect account actions, and remember necessary preferences. Public page activity may be counted to provide page-view and link-click information to the page owner and to maintain the service.
Your browser can block or clear cookies, but essential account features may stop working correctly. External sites reached through a SparLab link may set their own cookies.
07
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain account and publishing records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Different information can have different retention periods.
We use safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls and protected authentication handling. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
08
Your choices
- Edit profile and business information from the relevant account forms.
- Choose or update interests used for feed personalization.
- Keep work as a draft until you are ready to publish it.
- Remove links or content that you no longer want SparLab to display.
- Opt out of optional launch messages using the method included with the message.
- Ask for help accessing, correcting, or deleting account information by emailing hello@sparlab.io.
We may need to verify that a request relates to you before acting on it. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
09
Changes, children, and contact
SparLab is intended for people who can legally agree to these terms and manage a public professional or business presence. It is not designed as a service for children. If you believe a child provided personal information inappropriately, contact us.
We may revise this policy as SparLab changes. The effective date at the top will identify the current version, and significant changes may also be highlighted within the service.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@sparlab.io. For practical account guidance, visit Support or the FAQ.
